TYRANNICAL VOICE OF BIBLICAL GOD BLISSFUL NATURE OF VEDIC GOD

1. TYRANNICAL VOICE OF BIBLICAL GOD

(i) Is Biblical God, a God of Love ?

Here is the tyrannical voice of Biblical God in the following passage

233. “25. And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge, the quarrel of my covenant; and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall he delivered into the hand of the enemy.”

- Leviticus, 26/25

The readers should carefully read the above passage and decide themselves whether Biblical God is a God of love and compassion.

Jonathan Swift, the renowned Irish writer, who authored ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, looking back over centuries of church carnage, made his famous comment :

“We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another”148

- Jonathan Swift
(ii) Sword without and terror within

Read here the wrathful voice of Biblical God replete with terror and tyranny against those who do not believe in the gospel :

234. “25. The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.”

- Deuteronomy, 32/25

What offence do the suckling infants commit that they will be destroyed ? Is it not sufficient proof that Christian missionaries spread their religion by the dint of ‘sword without and terror within’ the houses of the so called pagans ?

German philosopher Nietzsche’s candid opinion is worth-quoting here.  He states :

“I call Christianity the one Great Curse, the enormous and innermost perversion, the one great instinct of revenge, for which no means are too venomous, too underhand, too underground and too petty.  I call it the one immortal blemish of mankind.”149

- Nietzsche

Voltaire, the famous French playwright and satirist, who was considered the universal genius of the ‘Enlightenment’, told Frederick, the Great, unambiguously :

“Christianity is the most ridiculous, the most absurd, and bloody religion that has ever infected the world.”150

- Voltaire
(iii) Killing by teeth of beasts and poison of serpents

The God of Holy Bible declares that He will destroy the non-believers by means of the teeth of beasts and poison of serpents :

235. “24. They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction; I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.”

- Deuteronomy, 32/24

(iv) Massacre of children due to bias of their fathers

236. “21. Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity (bias) of their fathers;……”
- Isaiah, 14/21

2. BLISSFUL NATURE OF VEDIC GOD

Vedic God (i.e. God described in Vedas) is benevolent, blissful and benign.  He pours His benign bliss on all beings of the universe.  He is the main source of strength, vigour and vitality.  It is He who endows his devotees with physical, moral and spiritual power.  All sorts of strength and energy originate from Him.  But for His will, not a single leaf of tree can move from its place.  Those who are the righteous and enlightened people, blessed with divine vision, acknowledge His visible beneficent rule in the universe and adore Him with fervour and enthusiasm.  Those who pray to and seek His benign protection, achieve salvation.  He imparts bliss and knowledge to those who invoke and entreat Him.  Those who are blessed with divine bliss, adore Him with fervent devotion.

We offer worship with devotion
To the supreme blissful Lord
Who bestows vigour and vitality
On our body, mind and soul,
Whose guidance is solicited
By all the enlightened sages,
Whose providence shadows
Over both, mortals and immortals.
                    - Yajur Veda 25/13

====================================

“The value of ‘independence’ is zero, if each field of national life is devoid of vibrations of spiritualism and ideals of Hindutva.”

- Dr. K.B. Hedgewar

“There is absolutely no escape whatsoever for the Hindus of this Nation from combining and unifying themselves for squarely facing the divisive forces that are hell-bent to destabilise this country.”

- Aurobindo Ghosh
